Join FIN Program Coordinator and Forest Therapy Guide, Jo Joly, for a morning of forest bathing and nature connection at Pease Park! We will meet at the Amphitheater just next to the park restrooms and embark on various invitations throughout the morning.
Our friends from Keep Austin Beautiful will table throughout the event and offer their expertise on vermicompost and trash with interactive games.
Forest Bathing is a practice encouraging individuals to spend time outdoors and in nature. The name itself comes from the 1980’s Japanese ecotherapy practice known as Shinrin-Yoku. It is an immersive sensory experience that allows you to take in the natural sights and sounds of the natural world.
Have you been wondering what kind of tree is growing in your yard? Maybe you want to learn a fun new skill? Well, you're in luck, because the Central Texas Seed Savers and TreeFolks are coming to Pease Park to lead a Tree ID lesson to help you learn a little more about what's growing around you!
Folks of all ages can learn about the key characteristics that help differentiate one tree from another, and apply those skills afterward to help keep our urban ecosystem diverse and resilient.

Join Chris Gunter and Nicole Netherton for a morning of birding at Pease Park during the spring migration period!
Dr. Curtis Eckerman, Department Chair of Biology at Austin Community College, is a friend of Pease Park and an expert in moths. Each year he leads his students in moth studies in Kingsbury Commons and wishes to share this passion with others. He and his class will be stationed along the Eastern trail of Kingsbury Commons between 7:00 and 9:00pm. Stop by to learn about some of the species found within Pease Park and build community in conservation.
Join Pease Park Conservancy’s Conservation and Community Engagement Teams on a guided nature walk through the woodlands of Pease Park. Learn about the unique geology of the space, the trees that live here, and the native plants that we are always encouraging to thrive. We will meet at the Picnic Tables in Kingsbury Commons and make our way throughout the park.
Please note: This tour will require a walk of about a half mile and some of this will be on uneven terrain.
Getting to Pease Park: When you arrive please gather at the Picnic Tables in Kingsbury Commons. We highly recommend alternate forms of transportation such as public transportation, walking, biking, ride-sharing or carpooling if this is an option for you. If driving make sure to arrive early enough to find parking as spots are limited.

Join us for a storytime of Miguel Antony Briones’ children’s book MACHO NO MACHISMO!
Miguel Antony Briones is an award-winning educator, community organizer, public speaker, and self-published author and illustrator of the bilingual children's book Como Mi Padrino. He was born and raised in the Central 79930 neighborhood of El Paso, Texas. Once a young travieso (mischievous child), he now writes about the experiences and culture that shaped his perception and outlook on life.

Horticulture Hour is a series for community members to participate in environmental learning with Pease Park Conservancy. We will talk about various environmental topics, conservation happenings in the park, and ways to implement similar concepts on your landscapes. During this installment, you can expect to learn to identify pollinator plants and organisms. You will also have the opportunity to help us care for the garden beds and learn about best practices for pollinator gardens.
Join Pease Park Conservancy's Conservation Team and help us remove invasive species from Pease Park! This volunteer opportunity will focus on removing as many catclaw tubers as possible from the Hillside of Kingsbury Commons. We will also spread native wildflower and grass seed to encourage the growth of native species. All ages welcome: children must have adult supervision.

We’re excited to be hosting an official Roots & Wings Festival Event! The Roots & Wings Festival is held from Wednesday, October 18, through Saturday, November 5, and is a community-wide celebration honoring Arbor Day and Monarch Appreciation Day in Austin. Join us in celebrating the Roots & Wings Festival on November 5th at the Pease Park Planting Party: A Roots & Wings Festival Event.

Jill Nokes, a horticulturist specializing in native plants and an experienced conservation manager, will take us on a guided nature walk through the woodlands of Pease Park. She will share stories of the unique geology of the space, the trees that live here, and the native plants that we are always encouraging to thrive. Jill’s perspective on the natural world is informed by her depth of knowledge of the local ecology and she will inspire you to look at your surroundings in a brand new way!

Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Cool to Care for a community swap event at Pease Park.
This swap is a chance for Austinites to participate in environmentally conscious consumption initiatives; learn about the work of participating local organizations; and above all, build community among people with similar interests.
Participants will be able to swap gently used clothing items and plants all while gathering with community.

Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Austin Wildlife Rescue for an interactive wilderness presentation, tortoise meet and greet, and a wilderness walk!
Join The Conservancy and Austin Wildlife Rescue at the Tudor Cottage for a special family friendly presentation on native Texas Wildlife and what we can do to help these beloved creatures. Staff and rehabilitators from Austin Wildlife Rescue will be joined by special animal ambassador Tortellini - a Texas Tortoise!

Field trips are for all! Come to Pease Park for a family excursion! Pease Park Conservancy and Families in Nature will be leading an Ecologist School Field Trip for families at Pease Park! Parents, guardians, and kids are welcome to, not only learn about the joint service-learning program we offer to school groups, but experience the opportunity for themselves! We will be leading a field trip for families with various stations and lessons throughout Kingsbury Commons and giving parents/guardians a taste of what an excursion to Pease Park is like!

Latino Conservation Week, is an initiative of the Hispanic Access Foundation as a way to support the Latino community getting into the outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources. To celebrate this Pease Park Conservancy is putting together a bilingual Conservation Walk through Pease Park. We will be enjoying the space by learning about conservation projects in the park, identifying native and invasive species, and celebrating community. We will meet at the Tudor Cottage and Terrace in Kingsbury Commons and make our way through the hillside trails and main trails of Kingsbury Commons before returning to the Tudor Cottage and Terrace for drinks and swag.
La semana de conservación latina es una iniciativa de la fundación de acceso hispáno como una manera de apoyar a la comunidad a salir al aire libre, y participar en actividades para proteger a nuestros recursos naturales. Para celebrar esta iniciativa, Pease Park Conservancy estará presentando una caminata de conservación bilingüe en el Pavillon Kingsbury. Estaremos disfrutando y apreciando el parque, aprendiando de la historia del parque y aprender sobre los proyectos activos de conservación como una comunidad. Además vamos a identificar algunas especies nativas e invasoras. Nos encontraremos en la cabaña y terraza tudor y continuaremos la caminata en las colinas que abrazan el parque. Join PPC's Conservation Team as we restore the trails and help protect them from erosion in celebration of National Trails Day!
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes you do not mind getting dirty. Pease Park Conservancy will provide all necessary tools and instruction. After we work on the trails join us for some refreshments and community building.
