Welcome to Kingsbury Commons at Pease Park!

Pease Park Conservancy celebrates the diverse ecology and history that make Austin’s first public park valuable and unique. The Conservancy works to restore, enhance and maintain this 84-acre public green space for the sustainable use and enjoyment of all. Fees paid towards venue rentals will support our mission.

Fitness Groups, Classes & Recurring Events

A permit to run fitness groups or recurring classes at the park is $50 per adult instructor for a six month period (Jan through June -or- July through Dec). To reserve space for your fitness group or recurring class, inquire below.


Field Trips

Reservations for class trips to Pease Park are encouraged to ensure access to the reservable spaces at the park, including parking. Picnic tables are reservable free of cost to schools as long as they are available. If planning to arrive via school bus, there is parallel parking up the hill from Kingsbury Commons at Live Oak Meadow (2208 Parkway) or parking is available at the Austin Recreation Center (1301 Shoal Creek Blvd).

Reservable Spaces:

Nonprofit organizations are eligible to receive a 50% discount, once per quarter, on reservations of Pease Park features. This discount does not apply to picnic table reservations.

Tudor Cottage & Terrace

Built in the 1920s and restored in 2021, the Tudor Cottage is a whimsical, light-filled space that retains the historical elements that make it the most recognizable landmark of Pease Park. Just north of Tudor Cottage is a terrace consisting of limestone banquet seating, large shade trees, and festoon lighting. Together, these spaces create the ideal setting for an indoor/outdoor event, reception, or gathering. Right inside the entrance of Kingsbury Commons - the front door of Pease Park - Tudor Cottage is easily accessible for your guests who will feel charmed by this beautiful space during your event.

Treehouse

When viewed from a distance, the unique Treehouse at Pease Park artfully mimics a seed pod you would find laying on the forest floor. This two-story, open-air structure contains a path that originates from the Tudor Cottage and Terrace and leads visitors up to the structure as they begin to feel a part of the treetop canopy of the park. Limestone block seating at the bottom of the Treehouse allows your group to meet and interact, while the circular path through the Treehouse and the large net on the second story allow for exploration and relaxation among the chorus of birds and wildlife that call Pease Park their home. Firefly lighting at the top of the structure adds a magical feel to the experience of being inside the Treehouse.

Basketball Court

This regulation high school sized basketball court could serve as the perfect space to set up for your gala or event. This wide-open space can be rented for class gatherings, sports practices, or special events. This space can be tented. The flooring of this space is green with white painted court markings. There are basketball hoops at each end that cannot be removed.

Picnic Tables

The entire picnic table area consists of four long concrete tables with benches along each side. Each table is 50 feet long and is available for your next party or team gathering. Located directly southeast of the newly installed play scapes, swings, and interactive water feature, the picnic tables will provide you with a casual, comfortable setting for your family-friendly gathering. This space is almost fully shaded.

Big Field

The 2.5 acre Great Lawn provides sweeping views across the park and to downtown. This grassy, wide-open space can be rented for class gatherings, sports practices, or parties. It is a lovely space to run, jump, and play or simply to relax on picnic blankets. The space is vast and can be tented.

Outdoor Plaza

The Outdoor Plaza and Amphitheater is centered among a large tree canopy and surrounded by greenery. The stone seats built into the hillside allow for excellent visibility for a presentation or performance. With seating for 100 people and convenient access to the restrooms, the amphitheater is the ideal venue for your next company meeting, outdoor class, or youth group performance.
