Have you been wondering what kind of tree is growing in your yard? Maybe you want to learn a fun new skill? Well, you're in luck, because the Central Texas Seed Savers and TreeFolks are coming to Pease Park to lead a Tree ID lesson to help you learn a little more about what's growing around you!
Folks of all ages can learn about the key characteristics that help differentiate one tree from another, and apply those skills afterward to help keep our urban ecosystem diverse and resilient.
We will gather on the lawn next to the big picnic tables right before heading out on the walk.

Nurture your mind and body while in nature with an immersive full body listening experience “bathing” in the vibrations emitted from Crystal Alchemy, Crystal Quartz, and Tibetan bowls plus the Earth, Water, Fire & Air Koshi chimes. Unplug, slow down and take a breath to pause alone or with the entire family. You will be laying down for this experience, so bring a mat or blanket to enjoy.

Join FIN Program Coordinator and Forest Therapy Guide, Jo Joly, for a morning of forest bathing and nature connection at Pease Park! Forest Bathing is a practice encouraging individuals to spend time outdoors and in nature. The name itself comes from the 1980’s Japanese ecotherapy practice known as Shinrin-Yoku. It is an immersive sensory experience that allows you to take in the natural sights and sounds of the natural world.
Pease Park Conservancy is happy to partner with Austin Youth Fitness to bring FREE youth fitness classes to Pease Park!
Join Austin Youth Fitness for a sample of their kids biking program! Bikers will become familiar with bicycle safety, learn the rules of the road, and will gain strength in their biking ability. For the Free Saturday event, participants will adventure from Pease Park down the Shoal Creek Trail approximately 1-2 miles, then back to the park for a fun finish! This is for experienced bikers ages 7 to 11, who can start, stop, and maneuver with control, and are comfortable going up and down hills. Participants will need their own bike and helmet.

Join Pease Park Conservancy for hands-on learning in the Park.
Horticulture Hour is a series for community members to participate in environmental learning with Pease Park Conservancy. We will talk about various environmental topics, conservation happenings in the park, and ways to implement similar concepts on your landscapes.
During this installment, you can expect to learn about riparian areas, ecological succession, riparian plants, buffers, and more. You will also have the opportunity to help us care for the area by helping us collect litter! We will provide all necessary materials as well as informational sheets about what you will learn throughout the day.

Dr. Curtis Eckerman, Department Chair of Biology at Austin Community College, is a friend of Pease Park and an expert in moths. Each year he leads his students in moth studies in Kingsbury Commons and wishes to share this passion with others. He and his class will be stationed along the Eastern trail of Kingsbury Commons between 7:00 and 9:00pm. Stop by to learn about some of the species found within Pease Park and build community in conservation.

Join Pease Park Conservancy’s Conservation and Community Engagement Teams on a guided nature walk through the woodlands of Pease Park. Learn about the unique geology of the space, the trees that live here, and the native plants that we are always encouraging to thrive. We will meet at the Picnic Tables in Kingsbury Commons and make our way throughout the park.
Please note: This tour will require a walk of about a half mile and some of this will be on uneven terrain.
Getting to Pease Park: When you arrive please gather at the Picnic Tables in Kingsbury Commons. We highly recommend alternate forms of transportation such as public transportation, walking, biking, ride-sharing or carpooling if this is an option for you. If driving make sure to arrive early enough to find parking as spots are limited.

Join Pease Park Conservancy's Conservation Team and help us remove invasive species from Pease Park! This volunteer opportunity will focus on removing as many catclaw tubers as possible from the Hillside of Kingsbury Commons. We will also spread native wildflower and grass seed to encourage the growth of native species. All ages welcome: children must have adult supervision.
