We’re deep in the heart (and heat) of summer and with consistently record high temperatures, Texas has been dryer than usual. One thing we can take away from this moment is the need for collective support. While native species are acclimated to their natural environments, they still require care during extreme climate conditions. That’s where our park staff and volunteers come in. These past few weeks, our volunteers have played an incredibly vital role in helping us show up for the plants and the wildlife in the park. Every day of the week, our team is in a different part of the park bringing much needed water to thirsty trees and plants. It’s hard work, but it makes all the difference to our plants, trees, and wildlife that they provide habitats for.

Austin Core Transportation Plan
The Austin Core Transportation (ACT) Plan is a study of transportation and mobility options into, out of, through and within downtown Austin. The ACT plan will coordinate with and facilitate several major downtown projects: Project Connect, I-35 Capital Express Central, and the Palm District Planning Initiative. Efforts are underway to review and enhance the look, feel, and function of Austin’s downtown street grid.

A Peaseful Commute
Have you explored all the different ways to arrive at the park? Get your steps up by commuting to the park by foot, bike or bus!
If you find yourself coming to the park by car, be sure to note that parking is limited along the park and plan ahead.
Reminders when commuting by car:
Please be sure to only park in designated areas
Please be considerate of neighbors along the park and do not block any driveways
Free parking is available daily at House Park 1301 Shoal Creek Blvd. and on weekends from 9am - 6pm at the ACC Rio Grande Garage located at 816 W. 12th St.
