Golden Frequencies Sound Bath in the Treehouse

  • Treehouse in Pease Park 1100 Kingsbury Street Austin, TX, 78703 United States (map)

Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Sona Shala for a sound bath at the iconic Treehouse in Pease Park!

About the Experience

There are some spaces that invite us to listen differently.

Golden Frequencies is an immersive sound experience held in the Treehouse at Pease Park - an evening suspended among the trees to slow down, soften some of the doing, and return attention to the body. The experience will begin with gentle grounding, breath, and guided meditation before unfolding into an extended sound immersion. Crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, gong, chimes, harmonium, ocean drum, and other instruments will create layers of vibration alongside the living soundscape of the park. Wind through the trees. Birds moving overhead. The sounds of life continuing around and beneath the Treehouse. Here, those sounds aren’t interruptions to the practice. They become part of it.

The invitation is to listen - to vibration, to breath, to the world around us, to the quieter places within that can become harder to hear beneath the noise of everyday life. A space to receive without needing to accomplish. To rest without needing to earn it. To be held by sound, community, and the living world for a little while.

Come exactly as you are.

Please be aware that there is a 20-person limit to the number of people who can be on the net at the top of the Treehouse. Because of this restriction, a ticket to the top of the Treehouse for this event will be $12 and access will be limited. Additional listening space will be at the bottom of the Treehouse and across the trail for free.

PAID REGISTRATION FOR THE TOP OF THE TREEHOUSE

What to Expect + Bring:

No previous experience with meditation, yoga, or sound is needed. The invitation is simply to arrive and allow the experience to meet you where you are.

Most of our time together will be spent resting, either lying down or seated, and participants are always welcome to move, shift, sit up, or choose whatever shape feels supportive.

Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow or bolster, water, and anything else that will help your body settle comfortably. Since the Treehouse is an open-air space, layers are encouraged depending on the evening.

About Sona Shala

Sona Shala means golden sanctuary.

It began as a place to gather and has continued becoming something much larger - a home for the many ways practice can be lived.

Yoga. Sound. Somatics. Meditation. Breath. Philosophy. Ritual. Retreat. Community.

Different doorways into the same remembering.

Founded by Sonali Krish, LPC-A, ERYT-500, YACEP, Sona Shala creates spaces to slow down enough to notice what is already moving within and around us. The work is rooted in nervous system awareness, embodiment, curiosity, and the understanding that practice is meant to travel with us far beyond the mat.

Sometimes that looks like a room filled with singing bowls and bodies at rest. Sometimes it’s movement and breath. Sometimes it’s sitting together in inquiry. Sometimes it’s six days in Costa Rica exploring our relationship with the earth, one another, and ourselves.

Sona Shala offers yoga and meditation, immersive sound experiences, workshops and community gatherings, private experiences, mentorship, wellness programming, and multi-day retreats. Sonali also serves as Director of Retreat Experiences at Salvatierra Retreat Center in Costa Rica, where she creates immersive retreat experiences and supports teachers, therapists, facilitators, and space holders in bringing their own retreats into form. Current and upcoming Sona Shala retreats explore the spaces in between, yoga philosophy, consciousness, the chakra system, rhythm and vibration, nervous system care, ritual, relationship, and the lifelong practice of returning to ourselves.

At the heart of it all lives a simple question:

How do we practice being more fully here?
