What is Recovery in the Park?
In 2015, a handful of recovery community organizations led and governed by representatives of the local recovery community saw a need that was missing in the Austin community and decided to do something about it. From there, Recovery in the Park was born. Each September during Recovery Month, this event brings out local musicians to share the stage with inspiring speakers from the community. Guests enjoy music while connecting with local recovery organizations at booths, gathering resources, and engaging in fair-style activities and games.
This FREE community event includes, but is not limited to:
Musicians playing from 12-5 PM
Guest Speakers
Fair / Carnival Style Games
Plenty of Activities for the Kiddos
Access to Recovery Resources
and so much more...
plus some potential pre-event activities in the morning that may include:
One Mile Race
Yoga with Meditation
Soundbath with Singing Crystal Bowls
Giant Drum Circle
Water Balloon Toss
All Pathways Recovery Meeting
and more...
Plus, each supporting organization with a booth will provide its own activity to make for endless opportunities to have fun with your friends and family!
For a second year, Recovery in the Park joins Big Texas Rally for Recovery to make it even bigger and better and bring out the masses to get a taste of what recovery can look like. All are welcome to attend, so bring out everyone you know.
