Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Dr. Allyson Bates for a Parent and Baby Mindfulness workshop to nurture connection and development outdoors at Pease Park! This family-friendly workshop is free and open to the public. Please note this event is geared towards parents and their infants between 0-12 months old.
As the demands of parenthood can often lead to feeling overwhelmed and isolated, it is essential to support parents’ emotional well-being and infant development in a nurturing environment. This engaging workshop will explore the practice of mindfulness in nature and how to seamlessly integrate it into your everyday life.
What to Expect:
Under the guidance of Dr. Allyson Bates, participants will experience the many health benefits of engaging in mindfulness in nature and learn practical strategies to slow down, stay grounded and navigate each moment with greater awareness.
Allyson will lead parents and babies in a variety of activities designed to support maternal well-being and infant development that could include: mindful breathing and relaxation, nature-based sensory play, infant development activities, mindful movement, nature walks, and supportive discussions in a group and outdoor setting. Participants will experience benefits such as mental health improvement, a sense of strengthened community, enhanced parent-child bonding, and exposure to the natural world. Participants will walk away feeling refreshed and equipped with simple, actionable tools to enhance well-being at home.
