Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Dr. Allyson Bates for a Mindfulness workshop for Parents & Parents-to-Be at Pease Park! This event is free and open to the public.
Research has shown that spending time in nature and practicing mindfulness can alleviate stress and improve psychological well-being. This engaging workshop will explore the practice of mindfulness in nature and how to seamlessly integrate it into your everyday life. Modern parents are feeling overwhelmed and need supportive community connections and mental wellness resources. Mindfulness is a tool that can be used to help parents slow down, be present and learn to manage everyday challenges.
What to Expect:
Under the guidance of Dr. Allyson Bates, participants will experience the many health benefits of engaging in mindfulness in nature and learn practical strategies to slow down, stay grounded and navigate each moment with greater awareness. Allyson will lead parents in a guided session that may include: meditation, nature walks, supportive discussions, and nature-based activities in a group and outdoor setting. By the end of the workshop, participants will walk away feeling refreshed and equipped with simple, actionable tools to enhance well-being at home.
