PPC is excited to partner with the Violet Crown Players’ Diverse Space Youth Dance Company for an outdoor installment of their movement-based performance False Starts, Falls, Fouls [The Art of Making Mistakes]!
This performance is a FREE-for-all all opportunity to support local art and youth dance initiatives. Since this is a moving performance, we will begin at the ring of Sycamore trees next to the Picnic Tables and make our way to the Tudor Cottage and Terrace, the Amphitheater, Treehouse, and trails on the Kingsbury hillside.
About False Starts, Falls, Fouls [The Art of Making Mistakes]:
Throughout the course of the year, instructors and dancers of the Violet Crown Players’ Diverse Space Youth Dance Company work on expressing a message through movement for a dance showcase. In preparation for this final performance, the company curates various pop-up performances throughout Austin and Pease Park is elated to host one of these performances!
This year’s theme is an exploration of our relationship with “failure”. We tend to avoid and protect our loved ones from the results of "making mistakes” as well as pass judgement, when encouragement and learning would be more productive and loving.

The Austin-based dance company believes Dance is for Everybody! The Violet Crown Players create movement-based performance works that project connectedness and promote growth.
They not only form dancers, physically and intellectually but also stimulate their curiosity and responsiveness. Their Dance training builds muscles, character, and community, and provides youth with an awareness of health and current social issues.
The company also provides affordable training and scholarships and is the only USA youth dance company that travels to Europe every Summer to train and perform.
