Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with Cool to Care for a community swap event at Pease Park.
The Spring Swap is a chance for Austinites to participate in environmentally conscious consumption initiatives; learn about the work of participating local organizations; and above all, build community among people with similar interests.
Participants will be able to swap gently used clothing items and plants, and enjoy drinks from Watertight Cocktails and Moontower! There will be a short 20-minute panel with speakers from Cool to Care, ReFIND, and Goodwill that will provide some hot tips on how to be involved in sustainable fashion in Austin and in general!
How the Clothing Swap works: Bring up to 10 items from your closet you no longer wear. These can be shoes, accessories or pieces of clothing. Please make sure they are clean and lightly worn. If your clothes are dirty or too worn we will not accept them. When you arrive at the event you will check in. Please bring a bag to put your new items in. If your items are not picked, please take it home with you or donate it to Cool to Care who will donate it to a charity in Austin.
How the Plant Swap works: Bring some cuttings of your favorite plant or a fully grown plant you wish to offer to a new home!
Getting To Kingsbury Commons:
We highly recommend alternate forms of transportation such as public transportation, walking, biking, ride-sharing or carpooling if this is an option for you. If driving make sure to arrive early enough to find parking as spots are limited.
There is a small parking lot in front of Kingsbury Commons and street parking is available on Parkway between Kingsbury Street and Lamar Blvd.
Throughout the week, additional parking is available at the Austin Recreation Center (1301 Shoal Creek Blvd). On weekends between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, even more parking can be found at the ACC Rio Grande Campus Garage (816 W. 12th Street). Both of these options connect to Pease Park by a 5-minute walk along the Shoal Creek Greenbelt Trail.
