First Saturday Fit n' Fun Running

  • Kingsbury Commons in Pease Park 1100 Kingsbury Street Austin, TX, 78703 United States (map)

Pease Park Conservancy is happy to partner with Austin Youth Fitness to bring FREE youth fitness classes to Pease Park for kids ages 5-11!

AYF's play-based running clubs focus on proper running form, pacing, endurance, running drills, functional fitness, and making fitness fun! At this event, you can expect warmup games, form-focused drills, FUNdamental activity, and more games!

About AYF: Grounded in child development principles and best practices in physical education, our programs emphasize children's holistic health - physical, mental, emotional, and social. We teach kids the "Fitness FUNdamentals," and they learn sport specific skills, while also developing active-lifestyle habits and improving their overall fitness and health. Most importantly, children learn that FITNESS IS FUN, and having fun is vitally important to health too!

Getting To Kingsbury Commons:
We highly recommend alternate forms of transportation such as public transportation, walking, biking, ride-sharing or carpooling if this is an option for you. If driving make sure to arrive early enough to find parking as spots are limited. There is a small parking lot in front of Kingsbury Commons and street parking is available on Parkway between Kingsbury Street and Lamar Blvd.

Throughout the week, additional FREE parking is available at the Austin Recreation Center (1301 Shoal Creek Blvd) and on weekends between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, FREE parking can also be found at the ACC Rio Grande Parking Garage (816 W. 12th Street). Both of these options connect to Pease Park by a 5-minute walk along the Shoal Creek Greenbelt Trail.

A note about Pease Park Conservancy's events: If you sign up, please make every effort to show up. Our events are free so all of our community members can attend. But we plan our events to be meaningful for the number of people who register to be there, so please make every effort to attend if you have registered. We understand things come up from time to time, but If you have registered we look forward to having you there! Thank you!
