Hyperreal Film Club and Pease Park Conservancy are bringing movies to the park! Join us at the Tudor Cottage and Terrace for a 3D screening of Coraline at Pease Park!
“Coraline” is the bone chilling fall classic all the cool kids reach for. Bored and neglected Coraline’s wishes all come true when she finds a secret passageway to a parallel universe where her parents are attentive and loving. But sweet dreams turn to nightmares when her button-eyed Other Mother’s true motives come to light.
In the world of children’s movies, Henry Selick’s “Coraline” stands apart as a handcrafted masterpiece. Selick’s team of hundreds built the lovable cast of “Coraline” from scratch, along with sets, props, and hand knitted costumes. These old school techniques combine with cutting edge 3D photography in subtle ways, like the real world set being designed as flatter and more cramped than the open and inviting Other World set. The 3D in this movie is more than just a gimmick, making it feel like you could fall into Coraline’s twisted world.
