Passionate about music education, Matthew Gustafson teaches with local non-profit Austin Soundwaves, serving historically under-funded school programs throughout Austin, and participated as an instructor with UT's String Project. In lessons, he strongly believes in fostering a nurturing, holistic, and positive learning environment marked by a commitment by both teacher and student to mutual respect, seeing challenge through the lens of opportunity, and having fun!
Wisconsin native, Katie Gustafson, has been playing the piano since she was four years old and is now finishing her doctorate in Piano Performance. A teaching assistant for the University of Texas at Austin, Katie teaches class piano and private lessons along with managing her own private studio. A committed educator, Katie has been invited to present at local and national conferences for music teachers, advocating for creative opportunities for students to experience making music together and connect with one another.
