Sound Bath in the Treehouse

Stop by the Treehouse in Pease Park on Wednesday, July 27th, between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. to soak up music by clarinetist and saxophonist Dr. Ivan Valbuena during our Sound Bath. Visitors can listen to Dr. Valbuena’s program of classical music, Colombian folk music, Latin American tunes, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Dixieland and more while relaxing in the top of the Treehouse. Visitors should know that access to the top of the Treehouse will be limited to prevent overcrowding. Space will also be available in bottom of the Treehouse and in the shade across the trail.

About Dr. Ivan Valbuena
Dr. Ivan Valbuena is an outstanding performer and educator, residing in the Austin area. He is currently the 3rd/Bass clarinet of the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra and he has appeared with the Austin Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, Boston Civic Orchestra, Central Texas Philharmonic, Simon Bolivar Orchestra, the Grammy winners Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Americas, among others.He is the winner of the Matthew Ruggiero International Clarinet Competition 2017, a rigorous competition with dozens of applicants around the world, worldwide acclaimed judges and a $10,000 prize. Ivan is also the winner of the Harold Wright Clarinet Award organized by the Boston Woodwind Society , among other performance competitions in Latin America and the US. He has a Doctoral degree from the University of Texas at Austin and he has performed in some of the most important escenarios in the United States, Central America, Latin American and Europe.
