Imagining A World: A Writer's Workshop for Kids!

  • Kingsbury Commons 1100 Kingsbury Street Austin, TX, 78703 United States (map)

An imagination is a powerful thing! Imagining doesn’t just help us dream of new worlds, it can show us how to create them! Set in our Treehouse, this writers workshop invites kids to reach deep into their imagination to dream up the magic of a new world. Young writers will learn to explore and create written maps to the worlds they envision through prompts and open discussion. This workshop will be led by Austin Bat Cave and is encouraged for grades 3rd-5th.

Austin Bat Cave is a creative community that provides programs in creative writing, journalism, college essay writing, resume writing, expressive journaling, and more! With rising housing costs and gentrification pushing families further outside of city limits, Austin Bat Cave developed a mobile classroom by converting a city bus into a traveling writing lab and library—the ABC Bat Mobile. Currently this program serves four schools in the Del Valle Independent School District.
