ABOUT MARIKA ALVARADO:
Marika is an Apache woman who is a traditional healer, working in harmony with the plants of the earth and the rhythm of the body. She uses her knowledge of native plants in the form of teas, tinctures, and creams that she creates. Her work is in its purest, traditional form; nothing has been changed from what was taught to her by her elders. Marika has founded a school and nonprofit, Of the Earth Institute of Indigenous Cultures and Teachings with the mission of passing down the knowledge of her elders so the medicine will not be lost. She also does lectures at Dell Medical School, The University of Texas, St. Stephens Academy, and other locations.
