Help spread the love… Well, mulch. At this event, we will be spreading mulch around the trees in the park.
Mulch is a very important resource in keeping a greenspace happy and healthy. Mulch helps protect the soil from the sun’s UV rays and lock in moisture so that the trees have water to drink. Mulch helps slow the compaction of soil and allows the soil to breathe. It provides habitat to a micro-ecosystem of beneficial insects, fungi, and bacteria, and as it breaks down, mulch adds organic material to the soil.
Please bring water and wear closed-toed shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy. Gloves and tools will be provided.
