Free First Saturdays: Cycle the City

  • Pease Park 1100 Kingsbury Street Austin, TX, 78703 United States (map)

Pease Park Conservancy is happy to partner with Austin Youth Fitness to bring FREE youth fitness classes to Pease Park for kids ages 5-13!

AYF’s Cycle the City program is for skilled bikers who can comfortably ride on roads and/or trails. Each CTC session starts with a review of biking safety, "rules of the road," and AYF's group-riding rules ("riding as a team"). Then bikers will ride from Pease to another Austin park or landmark, enjoy being “tourists in their own city,” and become familiar with Austin’s urban trails. Routes range from 4-9 miles, depending on the average age and overall skill level of the group(s).

Bikers need their own bike, helmet, and water bottle or water-backpack. If your child does not have a bike, you can rent a woom bike through AYF! Reach out to info@austinyouthfitness.com to inquire.

Please note: This program meets at Kingsbury Commons by the picnic tables.

About Austin Youth Fitness:
Grounded in child development principles and best practices in physical education, our programs emphasize children's holistic health - physical, mental, emotional, and social. We teach kids the "Fitness FUNdamentals," and they learn sport-specific skills, while also developing active lifestyle habits and improving their overall fitness and health. Most importantly, children learn that FITNESS IS FUN, and having fun is vitally important to health too!
