Pease Park Conservancy welcomes REI to Pease Park and thanks them for volunteering to help us improve the park.
Today, we will be addressing Bamboo in the park. Bamboo is a non-native species that grows very quickly and aggressively, often crowding out native plant species in the process. Bamboo is also a very hardy plant that spreads through a network of budding roots called rhizomes. in order to remove bamboo, the plant must be completely removed, rhizomes and all in order for the work to be successful.
Gloves, tools, shirts, and snacks will be provided; however, water will not. Please bring your own water bottle and if you have not been fully vaccinated, please wear a mask.
After the event, be sure to record your impact on GivePulse.
