Shoal Creek Trail 29th-31st Reopens

The 2015 Memorial Day Floods did a number on the Shoal Creek Trail. Raging floodwater uprooted an oak along the creek that took the Shoal Creek Trail with along it, resulting in the section between 29th and 31st being closed to the public.

This section of the trail, and subsequently the Greenbelt from 29th to 31st was closed to the public for nearly two years! Not only did we miss out on the important trail connection, but the bluffs are one of the most majestic natural features in central Austin.

After much anticipation, we're pleased to see the trail has reopened! Thanks to Austin Parks and Recreation Department for seeing through this important repair. See you on the trail!
