Pease Park Conservancy was honored at an inaugural award ceremony hosted by the Shoal Creek Conservancy (SCC) on April 21 at PGi Studios. Conservancy Board Chair Richard Craig and Executive Director Andy Gill accepted the Shoal Creek Keystone Award on behalf of the Conservancy at the well-attended event.
"We are extremely honored to receive this award from our friends at the Shoal Creek Conservancy,” said Craig. We look forward to our future collaborations with SCC for the betterment of this vital green space that we all love."
The Shoal Creek Keystone Award and other accolades bestowed at the event honored individuals, groups and companies that have contributed significantly to SCC’s mission. Other recipients included the Austin Parks Foundation, Cirrus Logic, GSD&M, the Bull Creek Road Coalition, and the Keep Austin Beautiful “Adopt a Creek” Program.
The SCC’s decision to recognize the Conservancy’s efforts reflects the close working relationship between the two organizations. “It's an exciting time to be in Austin, but as the city continues to grow it's becoming more important to preserve our public parklands,” said Gill. “We all benefit from the good work that Shoal Creek Conservancy is doing to protect the entire Shoal Creek Watershed. We look forward to continuing our partnership with SCC and making the Greenbelt and Pease Park an even better place.”
