Be sure to earmark a healthy donation to Pease Park Conservancy on Amplify Austin Day, the 24-hour online day of charitable giving that begins at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 and ends at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 9. The Conservancy has set a goal of $15,000.00 in donations through this annual online event benefitting Austin-area non-profit organizations.
The Conservancy will apply the contributions received on Amplify Austin Day towards its volunteer program, native tree & grass planting, restoration of historic stonewalls, and the implementation of the Pease Park Master Plan, which the Austin City Council unanimously approved in October 2014. The Plan establishes a comprehensive blueprint for the long-term restoration, preservation, and enhancement of Pease Park's natural, recreational, and cultural elements. Phase One Implementation of the plan includes the repurposing of the historic Tudor Cottage as a community gathering space, the construction of a new multi-use pavilion to provide adequate restroom availability and expanded picnicking options, and the enhancement of the park's main gateway at Kingsbury and Parkway streets.
Visit Pease Park Conservancy's Amplify Austin page to make your gift towards preserving and enhancing a treasured green space in the heart of Austin. Tax-exempt donations can be made today by credit card, but will not be charged to your card until March 8.
